New waterside development offering 5 luxury rental apartments in the former Willemspark School in Amsterdam’s beautiful Oud-Zuid.
These 5 future luxury residences, intended for rent, all retain the traditional character of the original school, built in the Amsterdam School style. Their modern facilities will be finished to the highest level.
The apartments vary in size from 170 m2 to 410 m2
The front garden (100 m2) has been decoratively designed, and, to ensure maximum privacy, is not accessible to residents. The back garden (400 m2) is for the exclusive use of ground-floor occupants and has been laid out with terraces around the split-use garden house.
To the left of the building is a national monument, and to the right a flight of steps that leads to a 100m2 roof garden, with no neighbours, for use by the occupants of apartment 4; apartments 1 and 2 have access to the 100m2 garden house, split into two separate rooms. In contrast to the main building, the garden house is built in a modern, minimalist style, with a roof and rear facade in zinc, side walls of Red Cedar wood and Tudor glass sliding doors.
All the following installations ensure the intended energy-efficient EPA A+ label:
All apartments will offer superior quality and comfort with a sleek, modern appeal. Efficient layout, generous spaces, large windows and high ceilings are all characteristic of PL30’s design. A balance will be reached between the zeitgeist of the Amsterdam School-style building and the contemporary needs of the end-users.
The apartments were designed with the wishes of future occupants in mind, using low-maintenance materials and solutions. The homes will be equipped with complete modern bathrooms and kitchens. An important consideration was providing all homes with sufficient storage space and each apartment will have spacious outdoor area. The building has two elevators, giving access to each residence.
The Willemspark School Association (WPS) was established in 1921 following the introduction of the Lower Education Act in 1920. The objective was to offer modern and responsible primary education in classes of at most thirty pupils where personal development was of high priority. In 1924 the first Willemspark School building was realized at the Pieter Lastmankade.
